Advent/Christmas 2018

  • Sunday Morning Worship

This year marks the 200th anniversary of one of the best-loved Christmas carols, Silent Night. In times that often feel contentious, our worship this season will focus on the hope of "all is calm, all is bright" - reminding us that, even today, Christ brings peace and light for the world. Join us at 8:30 or 10:50 for traditional services in the Sanctuary, and 11:03 in the Fellowship Hall for Third Space blended worship.

  • Grandma's Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 1, 9:00-10:30 in the Fellowship Hall

The Grandmothers of AHUMC invite you for breakfast, crafts, cookie decorating, storytelling, and a visit from Saint Nick! All are welcome at this FREE event! In the spirit of giving, we will collect items for victims of domestic violence. Small, new items to stock the Safe Haven “mall” will be used for the mothers and children to “shop” for gifts for each other for Christmas. Toys, baby items, and appropriate gifts for mothers are needed. For more information, see “Santa’s Sack” at safehaventc.org

  • The BEST Christmas Pageant Ever!

Sunday, December 2, 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Laughs abound in this bestselling Christmas classic! The Best Christmas Pageant Ever follows the outrageous shenanigans of the Herdman siblings, or “the worst kids in the history of the world.” The siblings take over the annual Christmas pageant in a hilarious yet heartwarming tale involving the Three Wise Men, a ham, scared shepherds, and six rowdy kids. All are welcome to this free performance of our Children's and Jr. Choirs, sponsored by our Encore! Arts Ministry.

  • A Service of healing and hope

Wednesday, December 6, 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary

While the holiday season brings many joyous moments, it can be a difficult time for those who are mourning a loss of a loved one. This quiet service provides a peaceful moment of contemplation for any who wish to pause and connect with God at the beginning of December. Communion will be served.
