Youth in mission
Our youth participate in a significant mission trip each summer, usually traveling within the state (or a neighboring state) to do light construction and landscaping work for those who have suffered from storms, or elderly clients who are unable to make home improvements themselves.
Throughout the year, numerous mission opportunities are offered, including: traveling with the Five & Two Food Truck to serve food in an area of need, participating in literacy events in Fort Worth, and assisting with church events.
Glen Lake Camp
Youth participate in summer camp at Glen Lake Camp each year, including serving as Counselors in Training. AHUMC also participates in student-led Mid-Winter retreats in January and February each year.
Youth in Leadership
Youth are invited and encouraged to build their leadership skills through their service to the church. Serving on CTCYM mission trip, Advisory Boards for the Central Texas Conference, Project Transformation summer reading program, Five & Two Food Truck events at the Presbyterian Night Shelter, and leading groups at Vacation Bible School are some of the ways our youth lead through service to our church and community.
