Sewing and Crafts
Our church members participate in many hands-on mission activities, including using their crafting skills to benefit others. All skill levels are present at each group and beginners and newcomers are always welcome. Please call the church office at 817-737-3161 to learn about the next meeting of any of these groups.
Our Prayer Shawl Ministry knits and crochets lap-robes and shawls for those enduring a life-changing experience. Each baby born into our congregation receives a handmade baby blanket. Our mentoring students from North Hi Mount Elementary each receive a scarf and cap for Christmas from the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
Our Strings and Pieces group meets monthly to work on creating quilts and other items. Some of these handmade items are auctioned to benefit mission groups.
Jo's Love is another group that uses their creativity to minister to others. This group creates pillows for breast cancer patients as well as hospitalized children.
Crafters and those who love crafts are invited to participate in Holly Daze, our annual November craft show! A long-standing tradition at AHUMC, Holly Daze brings artisans from around the Metroplex and beyond who sell their wares. This is a fund-raiser for our Handbell Ministry. Come enjoy some early Christmas shopping!
